How To Get To Alonissos

There are several ways to reach Alonissos depending on your starting point.

Traveling to Alonissos from Athens

If you are traveling to Alonissos from Athens, these are your options to reach us:

1)  Internal flight from Athens airport to Skiathos – for schedules and reservations please check  Olympic Airlines  – from Skiathos you then have several choices to connect to a ferry or catamaran for your onward journey to Alonissos – for schedules please check  the Open Seas website.

2)  To access the island of Alonissos from Athens by ferry, you have to reach the port of Agios Konstantinos (165 km). To facilitate your journey to and from the port of Agios Konstantinos, there is a passenger bus service from the centre of Athens offered from Alkyon Travel (97 Akadimias Street, Kanigos square, Athens).  The bus synchronizes with the ferries and catamarans to Alonissos.  Please always confirm bus service availability and book your bus ticket in advance. Reserved tickets should be collected at least 1.5 hours before the scheduled bus departure.  For more information please check the Alkyon Travel website.

3)  Traveling to Alonissos from Kymi (southeast on Evoia Island) is the alternative route if you’re departing from Athens.  The cost is much less than if you travel from Agios Konstantinos and the ferry is 2 1/2 hours instead of 5.  The ferry runs from mid June until mid September and information and rates can be found on www.sne.gr.  Alkyon Travel in Athens is also the agent in Athens for issuing tickets.

Traveling to Alonissos from Volos

If you are traveling to Alonissos from Volos you will find several departure times daily on www.openseas.gr with stops in Skiathos, Glossa (depending on vessel) and Skopelos.

The new Anchialos National Airport (Volos airport)  now provides excellent service from several European cities at competitive rates.  Some airlines also have flights to Skiathos.
